About Pretty Calendars

Elsie Wren Elsie Wren Founder & Editor

Pretty Calendars is a small project founded and run by Elsie Wren, with one goal: make printable calendars that are nice to look at and correct down to the last date.

What is on the shelves

There is a calendar for every month, a yearly calendar that fits all twelve months on one sheet, and blank templates with no dates at all. Next to them sit the planners: weekly and daily pages, a quarterly view, a chore chart, a habit tracker and a lunar calendar, among others. Most of them come in several designs, from the plain Minimalist grid to pastel cute sheets, florals, cats and watercolor.

How the dates are worked out

No grid here is last year's file with the numbers shifted along. Each month is drawn from the date itself: the weekday the 1st lands on, how many days the month has, whether February gets a 29th. Holidays that move around are calculated as well, so Easter and the fourth Thursday of November end up in the right square.

Four languages, four ways to start a week

The site runs in English, Spanish, German and Brazilian Portuguese, and each language gets the calendar its readers are used to. English pages start on Sunday and mark United States holidays. Spanish pages start on Monday with Spain's national holidays. German pages also start on Monday, with the holidays observed across all of Germany, while the Portuguese pages keep a Sunday start and show Brazil's national dates.

When nothing on the shelf fits

The Calendar Maker lets you choose the month and year, the design, the week start, the holiday set and the paper size, add a title of your own, and download the result as a PDF or a PNG. It is free, with no account.

Free to print

Everything here is free to download and print. No account, no watermark. Ads on the pages pay the bills. What you may do with the files is set out on the license page. If there is a month, a design or a planner you would like to see, or a date you think is wrong, tell us on the contact page.
