Long weekends and the busiest weeks of spring

May looks calm on a screen and turns into the most crowded month of the spring once you write everything down. In the United States it carries Mother's Day on the second Sunday and Memorial Day on the last Monday. Both dates move every year, and both are printed on the English designs. Circle them as soon as you print the page: it takes a few seconds and saves a last-minute phone call in the final week of the month. If Memorial Day weekend means the pool opening or the first cookout of the year, write that in now, because invitations go out early.

Recitals, exams and the end of the school year

For families, May is the month of spring concerts, field trips, end-of-year tests and graduations. High school students sit AP exams in the first two weeks, and many districts finish the school year before Memorial Day or soon after it.
