One page, the busiest month of the year

December is the month where a printed calendar beats a phone outright, because the thing you need to see is not a single date but the shape of the whole month: which week term ends, which days the shops and the offices are shut, and how many days are actually left. December 2026 opens on a Tuesday, runs 31 days, and puts Christmas Day on a Friday, which is worth knowing before you book anything. Print the sheet at the end of November, put it on the fridge, and let everyone in the house write on it.

Twelve designs of the same December

Those sheets are the rest of this page, and each one exists because a printed December fails in a specific way for somebody: the boxes are too small, the week opens on the wrong day, the paper is the wrong size, the sheet will not survive a hole punch, or the plans run into January and the page stops at the 31st.

December 2027, a year early

The 2027 sheet is not a reprint with a new number on it. Every date, every weekday column and every marked holiday is recomputed, because December 2027 opens on a Wednesday rather than a Tuesday, so the whole grid shifts by a day. It is here in the Minimalist and the Cute designs, and it is the one to print for anything booked more than a year out: a lease, a school term, a wedding date, a flight bought while it is still cheap, or a classroom wall chart that gets planned in advance.

Portrait, landscape, Letter and A4

Portrait is the default, because it is the way a printer hands you a page and the way a fridge door is shaped. The landscape December turns it on its side, which makes every day box roughly twice as wide as it is tall. In December that width is worth more than the height it costs, because a single date in this month tends to hold three things rather than one. It comes in Minimalist and in Floral, and it hangs better on the strip of wall above a desk, which is usually wider than it is high.

Every file here is a vector PDF, so any of them will scale onto any paper if you pick "Fit to page" in the print dialog. Scaling costs margin, though, and that is why the A4 sheets exist: they are drawn at true A4 dimensions rather than shrunk down from US Letter, so the grid keeps its full width and the margins your printer adds are the ones A4 expects. Monday start or Sunday start

The English sheets open the week on Sunday, the way American wall calendars and most US school calendars do, so Saturday and Sunday sit at the two ends of the row. The Monday start December moves Sunday across to the far right, which puts the whole weekend together in the last two columns. That is the layout used across Europe and much of Latin America, and it is also the one that makes sense for a shift rota or a term timetable: a week that runs Monday to Friday then reads straight across with no gap in the middle of it. Nothing else differs. Same dates, same holidays, same six rows.

Room to write, and room for a hole punch

An empty box is the right answer for most people, and December is the month where it stops being enough. The lined sheet rules three faint lines inside every day box, so the school concert, the delivery slot and the dinner written on the same date stay in three straight lines instead of sliding into each other. The notes column sheet takes a different route: seven day columns and an eighth for the week itself, ruled twice on every row, because the present list, the cards still to post and the big food shop belong to no particular date. Both drop the illustration to buy the cells their extra height.

The binder insert is the same December grid with an empty gutter down the left edge and the punch positions marked inside it, so a hole punch can never take a bite out of the 24th. The English sheet is US Letter with the three ring positions; the Spanish sheet is A4 with the four ring positions, because that is what ring binders take on that side of the world. December and January on one page

December planning almost always spills over the 31st. School goes back, the bills that were deferred land, and the week between Christmas and New Year belongs to neither month. The two month sheet prints December 2026 above and January 2027 below, both dated, both with their holidays marked and both with squares big enough to write in, so the turn of the year happens on one piece of paper instead of two. New Year's Day 2027 falls on a Friday, which makes that first week back a short one.

Which December sheet to print

Start with the design you like best in the plain portrait grid, since that is what most people are after. Switch to landscape if you write sentences rather than words, to the Monday start if your week runs Monday to Friday, to the lined sheet if your handwriting drifts, to the notes column if half of what you write in December belongs to the week rather than a day, to A4 if you are not printing in the United States, to the binder insert if it has to be punched, and to the two month sheet if January is already filling up. There is no account and no limit, so printing two and keeping the better one costs nothing.

Frequently asked questions

What paper size does the December calendar print on?

The default sheets are US Letter, and because they are vector files they scale cleanly to A4: pick "Fit to page" in your print dialog and nothing is cut off. Does the December calendar include holidays?

Yes. The English sheets have the United States holidays marked, which in December means Christmas Day on the 25th.
